Motorsport Products Pro ATV X-Stand

Mar. 01, 2003 By Dean Waters
The Pro ATV X-stand has already proven to be one of the most useful products that we have come across in a while. We have been using the Motorsport Products Pro ATV X-Stand for about 3 months now. The stand has become a must have for working on our project ATV's. Up until this point we had made do and spent allot of time bending over or crawling around the garage floor while working on the quads. Now with the Pro ATV stand we can easily get the quad up to working level and have been able to save our back and knees. It has made teardowns and general repairs so much more convenient with the ATV at a decent working height. Most of the dealers and shops have nice hoists or lifts but not everyone can afford a lift. For $109.95 you can have your own stand at home.

The three ratcheting straps for attaching the stand to your ATV also hold the stand together when folded for transport or storage.
The Pro ATV X-stand is made from high quality 6061 aluminum and it comes with three adjustable ratchet tie downs with rubber coated hooks. The front of the stand has a large panel that can accommodate all of your sponsor logos or your name and number. The complete stand is very light and folds up nicely so that you can take it to the race track with you. The stand comes in blue, red, green, black, and semi-chrome so no matter what brand you ride there is one to match. There is no assembly required for the stand itself but if you have a belly plate on your ATV and want to use the stand with the belly plate installed you may have to slot the plate to allow the billet frame hooks access to your ATV's frame. We stood Project Raptor up on end then held the stand up and marked the spots for the slots. We then removed the belly plate and cut a slot on each side with our sawzall. With the new slots in our belly plate we reassembled the belly plate and we were ready for installation on our stand.
We marked spots on the skid plate where we wanted the stand attached to the frame.

The hardest part of using the stand is actually lifting the front of the ATV up so as to stand it on end on the rear grab bar. If you can do that by yourself then it is all a one man operation. After that you simply put the stand up to the frame. Run one strap to the forward part of your frame and one out each side to your pegs. Ratchet these down evenly then you let the front of the ATV back towards the ground. The feet on the stand are made such that they make contact then allow the stand to be rolled forward and onto the front two legs. That is it. You are now ready to work on your ATV.
Step One: Stand Quad on End
Step Two: Attach stand with straps
Step Three: Lower on to rear legs of stand
Step Four: Lower ATV onto front legs of stand.
Summary We have found the Pro ATV X-stand to be VERY functional and useful. Not only does it work good in the garage at home it works great for displaying your quad at the track or for making those last minute adjustments. If you are a racer or sport quad owner and find yourself working on your quad quite often then we think this stand makes an excellent addition to your arsenal of tools and equipment. We also really like the Pro ATV X-Stand for displaying the ATV at the race track.
