It's a favorite family pastime -- riding ATVs.

Jun. 21, 2006 By Press Release

BREA, Calif., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- It's a favorite family pastime -- riding ATVs. Whether exploring the natural beauty of forests, deserts, mountains or canyons, there's nothing quite like a summer getaway to enjoy the great outdoors and a little family bonding. Now, more than ever, families are hitting the trails to take in the ATV riding experience.

"There are destinations all over the country to ride ATVs," said Glenn Hansen, communications manager, American Suzuki. "Suzuki created the four-wheeled ATV, and has for more than 20 years helped provide families with enjoyable recreation and access to the great outdoors."

Suzuki's product line features ATVs for the whole family. This year, Suzuki released the QuadSport Z50, a small, lightweight ATV for adult-supervised beginning riders ages 6 and older. And, for kids over the age of 12, Suzuki introduces the all-new 2007 QuadSport Z90, a new clean-burning four-stroke-powered ATV. For riders 16 and older, Suzuki has a wide variety of ATVs for all skill levels from its QuadRunner, QuadSport and QuadRacer product lines.

With the appropriate ATVs in tow and the right safety gear to go along with it, the next decision is where to go for the family getaway. Recreational experts at Suzuki suggest these summer hot spots:

* Riders can enjoy sandy and hilly terrain at the Cinder Hills recreation
area near Flagstaff, Ariz. -- a popular site with lots of trails to
choose from.
* At the Paiute ATV Trails in south central Utah, two annual ATV
festivals allow enthusiasts to join hundreds of miles of scenic trail
riding through mountains, aspen forests and beautiful desert trails.
* For the perfect combination of the beach lifestyle and ATV riding,
enthusiasts can spend the day or camp overnight at Oceano Dunes in
coastal central California -- a sand dune complex that's geologically
unique.
* Families looking for a desert oasis can hit the trails at California's
Ocotillo Wells in San Diego and Imperial counties, where riders can
tour more than 40,000 acres of magnificent desert land.
* For riders of all skill levels, Turkey Bay in western Kentucky offers
approximately 100 miles of trails and breathtaking views of Kentucky
Lake.
* For landmarks, enthusiasts can visit Mark Twain National Forest,
located in south and central Missouri, and take in the scenery of the
country's oldest mountains -- the Ozarks.
* Wayne National Forest in southeastern Ohio boasts trails that wind
through the hollows and ridge tops with beautiful scenery and
breathtaking views.
* Hit the Hatfield-McCoy Regional Recreation Area in southern West
Virginia, which features hundreds of miles of riding trails for all
skill levels.
* Northern Wisconsin's Douglas County boasts the Midwest's friendliest
ATV towns, with nearly 100 miles of well-marked ATV trails that
showcase the area's beautiful pine forests and wild rivers.
* The Allegheny National Forest in northern Pennsylvania is home to more
than 100 miles of forested ATV trails including the Rocky Gap Trail,
and bountiful trails near Marienville, Pa.

Before embarking, visitors should check with individual parks regarding riding conditions, permits, fees and other requirements. For more information on places to ride in each state, riders can visit www.recreation.gov. For more information on ATVs that are suitable for any adventure, visit www.suzukicycles.com.

Rider Safety

To ensure safety for the whole family, Suzuki suggests that adults always supervise riders under the age of 16. Suzuki also recommends that all ATV riders take a safety and training course before riding. Course information is available through local dealers or the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America at 1-800-852-5344. For rider safety, always wear a helmet, eye protection and protective clothing.
