As previously reported, Mother Nature did her best to disrupt the racing action at Bark River but an ace track crew kept the racing surface in raceable condition. The first races in Round 5 were a bit muddy in spots but by the third and fourth races of the day the track was in excellent condition. The extra moisture kept the watering to a minimum as the day went on. Instead of the usual shorts and t-shirts in the crowd, stiff winds and cool temps kept everyone bundled up while the action unfolded on the track. All three Pro divisions had back to back winners which made the points races all that much more interesting. Despite missing the first two rounds of racing Johnny Greaves has raced his way into contention only 7 points out of the lead with half the season remaining. Chad Hord padded his points lead with two wins giving him a 20 point lead over newcomer Marty Hart. The class to watch might be the Super Stock Trucks with newcomer's Dave Waldvogel and Keith Steele mixing it up with the veterans of the class. Steele took home his first win in three tries as a rookie in the class. The rest of the points races are heating up and should make for a very interesting rest of the season. The next three rounds of racing for the Pro classes is back at Bark River on August 10-12 with special Friday night Pro races as they make up one round of racing. The spectators will watch for free on Fri. keeping the tradition of free Friday's at the Bark River Raceway. We'll see you at the races.
